Phobias Are Wonderful Things

This week Dan Thompson, on Sharon Sant blog talks about phobias.

Do you know what koumpounophobia is? Kpumpounophobia is the fear of buttons. Their are hundreds of random phobias out there from common phobias such as the fear of heights and a fear of spiders to some strange, weird and wonderful phobias, including would you believe, a fear of walking and a fear of flutes.

Dan Thompson a phobia novelist The Caseworker’s Memoirs, explains how phobias remain an untouched area of psychology when it comes to literature. Dan goes on to say, “psychology in fiction has seen some really good exposure in recent years, thanks to some unique viewpoints on behalf of the authors”

In his book, The Caseworkers Memoirs, Thompson delves deep into the psychology of irrational fears, portraying how different characters respond to different fears. In  life one persons fear can seem observed to someone else, Alexander the Great a famous strategist, solider and leader was allegedly reported to suffer from Ailurophobia – the fear of cats.
