Many of us have phobias, anxiety and fears. Even celebrities can be scared of the dark, terrified of spiders, but some celebrities take it to the extreme and have Really Weird celebrity phobias. We have complied the Top Ten Weidest Celebrity Phobias.
In at Ten,
Daniel Radcliffe the Harry Potter actor has a fear of clowns.
Coulrophobia as it is known, is estimated to affect 12% of US adults and affects other famous celebs including rapper P. Diddy, Johnny Depp, Carol Burnett and Anthony Bourdain. Many believe this relatively new phobia increased after Steven Kings horror book IT, became a film in the 1990’s.
At Number Nine,
Uma Thurman is Claustrophobic – the fear of confined spaces.
This common phobia had to be overcome when the actress had to buried alive in a coffin for the film Kill Bill 2. Most studies show that this phobia starts over a traumatic past or childhood event, which challenges the misconception that this is a genetic disorder phobia. Claustrophobia is actually a conditioned response to a stimulus, this stimulus becomes programmed into the brain, increasing anxiety when in confined spaces.

TV’s Vampire-Slayer Sarah Michelle Gellar with a fear of graveyards
Coimetrophobia- Fear of cemeteries or graveyards, is often an unknown phobia, but for Sara Michelle Gellar this phobia is real, so real in fact that she once refused to film an episode of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” as the director for authenticity decided to film the scene in a real graveyard.

The Famous Beauty Pamela Anderson with a Phobia of Mirrors.
Pamela known for her good looks is completely terrified of her own reflection. Not only can she not look at herself in a mirror, she also refuses to watch herself on television. The fear of mirrors is generally known as eisoptrophobia or catoptrophobia, it’s not really about being scared of mirrors it’s more about being frighten of the reflection within.

Tyra Banks is Afraid of Dolphins.
Apparently it has been reported (on the web!!!) that on average 14 people are raped by dolphins each years, with various you-tube videos backing up this strange claim, which maybe while this weird phobia is on the increase. “I’ve been afraid of them since I was 8 or 9,” says Tyra “I have dreams that I am in a pool and there are dolphins bumping me and I’m frightened.” Banks isn’t the only celeb with a dolphin fear, Jessica Simpson also suffers from this rare and strange phobia.

The Famous Horror Director Alfred Hitchcock – Egg Phobia
The famous horror director Alfred Hitchcock has a phobia of, wait for it…ghost?….Muderers?…..Birds?……..No he is afraid of eggs, yes standard chicken eggs. “I’m frightened of eggs,” Hitchcock once told an interviewer. “That white round thing without any holes…have you ever seen anything more revolting than an egg yolk breaking and spilling its yellow liquid?”

Toe phobia is called podophobia only 1 in 1000 people have it. Diddy’s phobia came to light live on air, when he appeared on The Tonight Show with Kate Beckinsale. Throughout the show he refused to look down, until he was asked why, he replied by saying “this foot thing. I really fear a second long toe.” Some podophobics are so scared of toes that they have to wear socks 24/7 so they don’t accidentally glance at their own feet.

This is phobia is rare and is often related to having a phobia of germs or not knowing what is on the other side of the door. For some people the phobia could be the door handle itself.

Kylie Minogue known her looks, style and voice has admitted to being afraid of coat hangers. Kyle hates the sounds the coat hanger makes as it moved along its rail, and was quoted saying “It’s a room in my home where everything is laid out. It never looks like other people’s wardrobes. I’ve got far too many shoes, but they’re so pretty I don’t like to hide them away.”

Pantophobia – The Fear of everything Allen is reported to of told interviewers about a massive phobia of Elevators, insects, bright colours heights, sunshine, children, dogs… and from arachibutyrophobia (fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of your mouth,) deers, small rooms, crowds, cancer and anywhere except Manhattan. Given half the chance I reckon Woody would quite happily take on the above 9 phobias as well.
