What is Hypnosis Good For?   by Tim Bartley

Hypnosis has been effectively used for pain control and the total elimination of it for painless childbirth, surgery, sinus pain, and arthritis. It’s also used for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), chronic headache, restless leg syndrome (RLS), Fibromayalgia and even the elimination of cancer (“Answer Cancer”, by Steve Parkhill). My approach with pain is two fold. First I regress to cause in order to see if there might be an emotional cause of the pain.

If this pain is linked to an event we clear that up first and then evaluate our results. If this approach yields no results then there are ways to shut off pain or change pain into something other than pain, such as warmth. Pain is very important because without it we wouldn’t know if something bad was happening to our body.

Hypnosis is a wonderful tool for emotional issues as well, in regard to: Depression, anxiety, grief, anger, panic, sleep disorders, post traumatic stress disorder, and ridding people of fears. At this time the culture in the US is geared much more towards relief from these categories of problems by the use of chemicals. “Ask your doctor” is a huge catch phrase used in so many drug commercials. Other cultures are more in tune with their whole self and their lifestyles result in less disease physically, emotionally, and mentally.

So why would a person go to a hypnotist? Hypnosis is a great tool for emotional relief and physical relief from various issues to be sure. If you have a feeling you don’t like or are uncomfortable at certain times of the day, week, or month, then use hypnosis to find out why and correct it.

Do you have habits you don’t like? Are your eating habits bad? Do you exercise? Do you drink too much? If you were to sit down and write out a list of things you would like to change about yourself physically and emotionally, thinking about general perceptions of yourself, noticing patterns you have fallen into, I would imagine that you would have at least five to eight items on this list.

Chances are you could wipe this list away by working with a competent hypnotist. It does matter whom you go to though, depending on their training, to find this relief. The key phrase or question to ask if you are considering hypnotherapy is, “Do you regress to cause?” If they don’t, find someone who does!

Hypnosis cures or greatly improves the following: Depression, weight loss, relationship issues, substance abuse, anxiety, fears, headache, panic attacks, lack of self esteem, sexual issues, smoking, sports improvement, stuttering, procrastination, allergies, asthma, IBS, restless leg syndrome, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, nightmares, nail biting, cancer, and much more…

When I say, “And much more”, hypnosis fixes feelings, any troubling feeling you may have. I find that hypnosis works well in relieving physical problems where the doctor has a hard time pinpointing what the problem really is.

These, of course, are generalities, but so much illness is rooted in the subconscious mind, unresolved emotions that are percolating somewhere in your mind connected to events of your past.

Chronic illnesses or recognizable patterns that you display, be it physical or emotional, are great candidates for healing with the use of hypnosis. Physical pains or bodily weaknesses that come and go or relocate throughout the body can be healed through hypnosis. Most skin problems such as excema, eczema, acne, hives, and boils can be one hundred percent eliminated with the use of hypnosis.

Take a moment and grab a pencil and a piece of paper and think of the things you would like to change in your life. Think about the physical and emotional things that may be troubling you, as well as past events that were difficult.

Think of people who have hurt you. Perhaps you become scared at night or are uncomfortable in certain situations. Look for patterns of behavior in yourself. If you’re honest with yourself you should have a list of at least four or five issues when you have finished. Fears, jealousy, lack of energy or motivation, feeling tired all the time possibly.

This list could be eliminated quickly using hypnosis and if you think you know what is causing these issues, the conclusion that you have formulated is most likely incorrect. These feelings go way back, believe me they do. Your conscious mind does not know the real reason for them, your subconscious mind does.
