Is a work life balance more important than a salary?

Many of us when choosing a career look at the salary first before considering other job criteria. A salary is highly important as your income has a direct impact on your lifestyle. At the same time many of us are looking for a perfect work-life balance, but how can this be achieved?

A work-life balance for many is having a challenging job that isn’t a stress inducer. Out of work, people want the energy to willingly join clubs, socialise and exercise with friends and family. Enjoying your career is key to this, as people waking up on a Monday morning happy to be going to work generally have less stress and feel more energised to complete their hobbies and interest.

Finding Success

Success comes from that perfect work life balance; The prefect work-life balance comes from knowing what you want from life. For some progressing in their career is key to their happiness, others prefer to work less and spend more time with family. There is no right or wrong answer, the key lies in knowing what you want and planning how you can achieve this.

With any choice there are always consequences. The career professional may only have a colleague friendship group and may miss out on experiences that their old friends undertake. And of course by having the work-life balance you desire you generally are live a happy and stress free life. And remember what every you choose to do, you plan is flexible. If you are career ordinated now, you may on several years change your mind and goals and become more life ordinated. The trick in this situation, is knowing you want to change your life/work balance before your current situation becomes a stress inducer.
