As a big fan of Tony Robins I have read many of his books and watched countless numbers of his videos and seminars
I have found that several messages come through in all of Tony’s work – the secrets of Tony robins success
The Power is in The Question
The frame of a question changes your focus, your focus changes your state as Tony said “if you ask lousy questions you will get lousy answers”
Don’t ask questions that make you reflect on the negatives, as the state this will create will produce procrastination. Rather then ask “where did I go wrong” ask “what can I do to improve?”
Elicit the Success Strategy
Solution focused questions creates a positive state but a positive state alone doesn’t equal success.
To be successful you need a strategy. For certain goals, such as dieting you will find strategies everywhere; diet cook books, personal trainers, gym and the web is full of dieting tips. Tony says “if you walk out of here how long until you find a gym, there will be 10 gyms within a mile radius”
For other goals you strategy may not be as easily available. In this case find 5 experts and find out what they do to achieve success. Copy the common traits to replicate their success strategy
Create Pain for Not Taking Action
Pain and pleasure is a motivational pull which when used effectively can creating lasting change, but most people live between these 2 motivational pulls.
To create action you need to build up the pain for not taking action and the pleasure from taking action. Tony talks about the power of pain and pleasure in all his seminars and books
Reframe Your Perspective
People constantly set goals that aren’t their real goals taking the focus away from what they really want to achieve
People say they want a million pound when really they want to be financially independent , others want to have more self –confidence but hide this by stating a lose weight goal
When you watch Tony in action he challenges peoples generalizations and seeks clarification on their goals. By uncovering the hidden meaning of their goals he can get straight to the route cause. Tony also reframes their perspective from a far away goal “to become a millionaire” to “I need £X per year to be financially independent”
