3 Steps To Create Personal Motivation
Motivation is the key ingredient for success. When setting a new goal a lack of motivation will result in procrastination and procrastination leads to a real lack in action. Once you stop taking action your hopes and dreams disappear, leaving you with an unfulfilled life.
There are 3 steps we all need to take when we want to create personal motivation, once followed you will find you will achieve your goals quickly
Step 1 To Create Personal Motivation
Know what your outcome is
We are set task, milestones and goals and many life coaches teach you to focus on your goal.
But your goal isn’t motivational or you would always achieve your goals. Look back throughout your life, how many goals have you set and not achieved? Why? Because, motivation the key ingredient was missing.
You are motivated to make a change because you either want to get away from something (the thing in your life that is causing you pain) or you want to achieve something pleasurable. This pain or pleasure thought, is your key to keeping motivated.
Before starting a task think about your outcome – the thing you want to avoid or achieve. By focusing on this you feel the associated emotion (pain or pleasure) which will create motivation to take action.
Step 2 To Create Personal Change
Create Commitment
It is really easy to let ourselves down. You wake up feeling lazy and decide “I will do that task tomorrow) This is the reason why people with a fitness goal often give up on exercise when they don’t belong to a fitness group.
You are more likely to go for a run if you have committed to meet a friend at a particular time. The same psychology works for any goal. If you state to a friend, especially a friend who is tasked to check in with you, your goal and time limits, you are more likely to stick to this as we don’t like to be seen as a failure to our friends.
Step 3 To Create Personal Change
Take immediate action
It is easy to plan a goal, look at the require steps and even gather your required resources, but the only way you will achieve your goal is by taking action
Goal achievers always take immediate action; they set a goal, record the steps needed and action at least one straight away, knowing that this movement will be contagious. As you tick off your to do list you feel more motivated to take more action, achieving your goal before your predicted deadline
Start by writing down all the required task and first complete of the quick and easy desired actions – creating action
