5 Things You Should Concentrate On But You Probably Don’t
Life is busy
There is so much to do, so much we want to achieve and numerous goals and actions we set for ourselves.
We set goals to be happy, to feel fulfilled, to create success. But is the thing(s) you are concentrating the thing(s) you should be concentrating on? Here are 5 things everyone should concentrate on for a happier life
#1 Health
On your deathbed the only thing that will be important to you is to become healthy.
If I offered you a deal would you take it? Imagine you are a multi-millionaire and I offer you this deal “for one million pounds you get to live an extra month” and imagine, in this fantasy that the deal would be realm you would actually live an extra month.
Most people especially those in their 20-30s would accept the deal. But if I offered this deal when you will seriously ill, most in the above situation would accept.
You first goal should always be your health, fitness and well being. Instead of being reactive with this area of your life become pro-active. Once your dead you are dead and nothing else will matter.
#2 Spend Time With Loved Ones
Thin about your friends, your family, or anyone you care about. When was the last time you seen these people? When was the last time you called them, sent an email, made an effort to contact them?
Life is about having many experiences. The people who are important to you will make these experiences special. The more special experiences you have the more full your life will be
#3 Smile, Be Happy and Have Fun
This I know seems obvious.
But I had to include as I met many people who live in a world of sadness and regret. Even forcing yourself to smile makes you more happier. Which means if your forced yourself to be happier by ten percent each day, this happiness over the period of just 6 months will have a massive impact on your life.
Think about the things that make you happy and do more of them
#4 Try New Experiences
I have already explained how life is a group of experiences.
Humans have a unique habitual approach to life. We tend to stay in our comfort zone. This can work well when you want to master a new skill.
But to fully enjoy life you need to attempt new goals, experiences and activities. You will only know if you like or dislike something by trying it. Variety is the colour of life, live your life in the full spectrum.
#4 Be You
The biggest regret you will have on your death bed is not being true to yourself.
Often we get so caught up in what others will think about us that we live life as an actor, playing the part we believe others want us to be.
The truth is most people don’t think that much about you. Be you, as you make yourself happy. If your current friendship group doesn’t represent the life you want to live find people who will fit into this desired criteria.
#5 Know What You Want
We are no longer hunter and gatherers, we no longer need to wander around to survive
Most of us live in a world full of opportunity. We don’t just survive we thrive. Take this unique opportunity in the timeline of our species and focus on the things that you want to do. Find your life goal, your mission, the criteria of your life plan.
Once you know what will make you happy – do more of this. Be creative and find variety in what you do, try new experiences and focus on your health and happiness
