Motivation to take action comes from a focus of the enjoyment of the task. When planning, focus on just 3 key milestones, the positive outcome from achieving your goals, the resources you can tap into and the fun of living the journey.
Positive focus creates motivation

Many people these days own their own business, or maybe you are self studying or becoming an inspiring author. Many goals or task, in the age of the entrepreneur, are solo task. When working alone, especially at home, it is easy to become distracted, demotivated or demoralised.
To get yourself going create a join a positive peer group (these are easy to establish via apps such as meetup) A peer group, especially when you meet at an external venue, creates motivation.
With a lack of distractions; TV, Pets, Household tasks, you are more focus on the task in hand. The group setting, the environment of people collectively working together and encouragement from your peers increases your motivation to succeed.
How To Get Going With Any Task Step 3
Positive Reinforcement
Rarely do people praise themselves. In fact people downplay their successes, stating that it was luck, that others did the hard-work or thinking that others will find that they are faking it.
You need to believe in yourself. Consciously realise your strengths, skills and successes. Praise yourself for your achievements, your planning and your creativity.
After each success, goal and milestone reinforce this behavior by rewarding yourself. This could be a pat on the back or a nice treat. Reward will create motivation and motivation is the state that will get you going with your next goal.
