Control Your Life Rule 1
Rule 1 – you can’t control everything
People make the mistake of believing that they have all the power, that they are in control, that they not others pull all the strings
When you live your life believing that everything that happens is down to your actions you will be left with the feeling of failure
You can set goals, take action, even reflect on your mistakes, but that doesn’t mean you always be successful. You may have read how a now successful person was once a failure. They set a goal, took action and never gave up. Eventually through determination they succeeded.
The problem with this and hundreds of similar success stories is that they don’t talk about the luck that was involved. Determination alone doesn’t create success.
To take control of your life you first need to understand a simple rule. You don’t control everything (often you control very little) Politics can change your career, peers can control your mood by simple off handed remark and an unexpected event can change what you value
Set goals, think big, take action but remember life can change in a blink of the eye
Control Your Life Rule 2
Rule 2 – Create positive routines
Our mind creates automated associations allowing you react without having to think. This happens all the time from acting like a pre-programmed sat nav on your way home from work, to your responce to seeing flashing blue lights in your rear view mirror
People even respond the same to common asked questions and dress themselves in the same order each day (often without realizing) This automated emotional association is how a phobia works
You can evolve your mind to react however you want it to (think pavlovs dog) Think about this, you can change how you respond to any stimulus; spiders, heights, first dates
Control Your Life Rule 3
Rule 3 – Live today
Many stressed individuals live in the past or the future, but not the present.
They think about what could go wrong or the mistakes they made. This is good in a limited amount. You can only control your life if your learn from the past, set ambitious goals for the future but live in the present
Life is about now. If you live for today you will take immediate action and action creates momentum and momentum creates motivation
If something makes you happy, do it today
